About

Jessica Johnston graduated from Texas Tech University in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science and immediately began teaching in the Dallas area. After spending seven years in the classroom as a fifth grade science teacher and seven years supporting teachers as an instructional technology specialist, Jessica accepted a new challenge in 2016 as director of communications for a small public school district in Central Texas.

As a one-man PR shop, Jessica is always looking for ways to work smarter, not harder. She enjoys building her network through the use of social media, collaborating with other passionate professionals, telling her district’s story, and sharing how the use of technology, social media, and digital marketing can transform the educational experience for all stakeholders.

Jessica has a Master of Education in Instructional Leadership from Sam Houston State University and a Master of Arts in Strategic Communication and Innovation from Texas Tech University. She is a mother of two boys, a people-driven educator, and a passionate believer in stakeholder engagement through positive communication.
